  2. Hot Topics

    1. My graphics card and CPU seem powerful enough to run RoboBlitz, but the game still runs extremely slowly. Is there another hardware issue that could be causing this problem?
      • You might have a Logitech G15 keyboard installed. First, try the following: quit RoboBlitz, unplug the keyboard, plug it back in and start RoboBlitz. If the game still runs slowly, please switch to a non-Logitech G15 keyboard, reboot, and start RoboBlitz.

    2. Why does my game slow down excessively or freeze at the "Precaching Shaders" or "Building Procedural Textures" step of the install?
      • You might have a newer developer version of the AGEIA PhysX drivers installed. Developer versions are not backwards compatible (in our experience) so you will need to uninstall them and install the full version of the latest drivers, or the drivers that came with RoboBlitz.

    3. I have an ATI Pro series card and I'm sure it meets the system requirements, why does the Display Driver Check give me an error?
      • Some of the drivers for ATI Pro cards are not currently reporting correct driver versions or card capabilities. We're working on a patch to resolve this issue. In addition, ATI will be realeasing new drivers for Pro cards which will fix this issue. Stay tuned for updates.

    4. My ATI card meets your minimum system requirement, why doesn't it work?
      • Please download the Catalyst 6.10 driver.

    5. When I purchase RoboBlitz from the web store, why does my trial version still say it's locked?
      • If you've previously downloaded the trial verison of RoboBlitz, but then purchased the game from our webstore instead of the in-game store, your trial version will not unlock automatically. To remedy the situation, run RoboBlitz and when the Trial window comes up, click the Customer Support link near the bottom of the window. Then enter your order number and the password you created when purchasing the game, and your game will unlock.

    6. Why do I get a crash with a message mentioning "negative delta time"?
      • You probably have an AMD processor with old CPU drivers. This can be fixed by installing the latest drivers for your CPU from here.

    2. GENERAL QUESTIONS return to top

      1. Should I download the latest drivers for my graphics card in order to run RoboBlitz?
        • Yes, for optimum performance, download the latest drivers for your graphics card. Download NVIDIA drivers here. Download ATI drivers here.

      2. Does RoboBlitz support the AGEIA PhysX™ accelerator card?
        • The current version of RoboBlitz uses AGEIA software physics, but is not accelerated by the PhysX card.

      3. Why don't all objects in RoboBlitz cast shadows all the time?
        • RoboBlitz's detailed physical simulation sucks up a lot of processing power and uses up a significant portion of our computing time each frame. Because of this, we had to come up with other ways to improve frame rates during play. Since we were looking to innovate in the area of gameplay instead of graphics, we compromised on our shadowing. That doesn't mean you won't find shadows anywhere- there are still plenty of places where Blitz and the baddies cast nice soft shadows.

      4. How do I subscribe to the mailing list for updates and news about RoboBlitz?
        • Click here to be added to the RoboBlitz mailing list.

      5. Where can I talk about this game with other people?
        • The forums provide an online community where you can discuss gameplay strategies and other RoboBlitz-related topics. The game's developers frequent this board to help you with any issues you may have.

      6. Why is the RoboBlitz download for PC larger than for Xbox Live® Arcade?
        • The PC download contains uncompressed music and extra files needed to run the RoboBlitz Editor, a Unreal® Engine™ 3-based tool for creating your own mods and content.

      7. What are ESRB ratings? What is the rating for RoboBlitz?
        • ESRB refers to the Entertainment Software Ratings Board , an independent organization that issues ratings on the suitable audience for a given title. RoboBlitz is rated: EVERYONE 10 AND UP with FANTASY VIOLENCE.

Then enter your order number and the password you created when purchasing the game, and your game will unlock.

    4. INSTALLATION return to top

      1. How do I install RoboBlitz? How do I start the game?
        • After downloading, double-click on the RoboBlitz installer and follow the instructions. The installer will create a shortcut called “RoboBlitz.” Double-click this icon to start the game.

      2. My ATI card meets your minimum system requirement, why doesn't it work?
        • Please download the Catalyst 6.10 driver.

      3. I have a laptop with an ATI mobility graphics card but my manufacturer does not yet support Catalyst 6.10. Can I run RoboBlitz?
        • If you meet all other minimum system requirements, you can try installing the desktop version of the drivers using the following hack: http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool/. There is a thread about this on the steam forum here.

    5. SETUP OPTIONS return to top

      1. I play on the PC, how can I customize my resolution in-game?
        • Go to Video Options under the Help and Options menu to change your resolution. Alternatively, push TAB to bring down the console, then type "setres" followed by your desired resolution. For instance, type "setres 1280x720". NOTE: The console is not available in the trial version of the game.

      2. Is there a quick way to switch between full-screen to windowed mode?
        • Press Alt + Enter

      3. Why isn't there a menu option to turn on/off Anti-Aliasing (AA) in RoboBlitz?
        • RoboBlitz uses delayed rendering that renders the scene once per visible light, which doesn't allow for realtime AA on today's graphics cards. There might be optimizations made in the future allowing for AA on certain lighting passes, but they're not in place yet, so that means no AA for now (even if you turn it on in your graphics card control panel). You can still turn on Anisotropic Filtering (AF) in your control panel and have that improve the texture filtering.

    6. FEATURES return to top

      1. Is RoboBlitz compatible with a PC gamepad? Does it support rumble?
        • Yes, you can use a PC gamepad with RoboBlitz. The game includes key-binding and rumble support.

      2. Does RoboBlitz have multi-player mode?
        • A multi-player expansion is currently in development.

    7. GAMEPLAY return to top

      1. Where can I learn strategies to solve the puzzles and destroy the baddies?
        • If you want more gameplay tips and tricks beyond the hint system in the game, visit our forums to discuss game play strategies and issues with other players and the developers.

      2. Any tips on how I can better control Blitz in the game?
        • If you are using a controller with analog sticks, keep in mind that Blitz will drive slower if you don’t press the stick all the way in a particular direction. You can use this for fine control of Blitz’s movement.

        • While in the air, you can use the left analog stick to engage Blitz’s thrusters and adjust your position before landing.

Any tips on using the dash feature on the controller?
        • If you have a controller with a clickable analog stick, you can execute a dash by pushing the left stick in the direction you wish to travel (forward, backward, left, or right) and then click down on the stick. When you click, Blitz will dash without having to double-tap in a particular direction. If you simply click the left stick without choosing a direction, Blitz will dash forward by default. Note that Blitz can only dash if he's going slow enough to get a good start. If you're still having trouble dashing, try stopping completely before attempting a dash.

      3. I find it challenging to use the Grabby Arms to pick up objects. What can I do?
        • Blitz can only pick up an object if he is close enough to reach it. Blitz picks up objects more easily if he is looking down towards the object. Sometimes big objects will drag on the ground and slow Blitz down. In these cases, look up while carrying the object to lift it off the ground.

      4. What is the "Glam Cam" and how does is work?
        • The "Glam Cam" is a camera mode that allows the player to view Blitz from any direction. You can play the game in this mode, but you will be unable to effectively aim the tractor beam. Dashing in "Glam Cam" mode is not for the faint of heart.

      5. How does the auto-aim feature work?
        • Auto-aim assists players with targeting while fighting the baddies. The auto-aim feature is only available for the EMP Rifle and the Pulse Cannon.

      6. Is there a faster way to select a weapon on the controller?
        • By default, you can use the D-Pad to quick-select a weapon. Press DOWN for Grabby Arms, UP for EMP Rifle, LEFT for Pulse Cannon, and RIGHT for Firework Launcher.

      7. Any tips for using the tractor beam?
        • If you’re tractoring a long distance, try to release the beam before you reach your destination. If you accelerate across the entire distance, you’re likely to travel much faster than you want (it can hurt or even destroy Blitz if you hit an object at high speed).

      8. I don’t understand the Point-to-Point (P2P) beam. Where should I use this tool?
        • Everywhere! The P2P beam can help you solve puzzles, move objects, and destroy baddies.

    8. BONUS CONTENT return to top

      1. How do I unlock bonus content?
        • Beating the game in “Master Technician” mode will unlock bonus content. Doing so on the Xbox 360 will allow you to earn exclusive achievements.

      2. Are there cheat codes in RoboBlitz?
        • Maybe... ;)

    9. ROBOBLITZ EDITOR return to top

      1. How do I launch the RoboBlitz Editor?
        • Use the shortcut created by the installer (on the desktop or in the start menu). You can also create a shortcut to RoboGame.exe, then right-click on this shortcut and select Properties. Change the Target to end with: \RoboGame.exe editor

      2. Does the Editor have an instruction manual or tutorial?
        • Visit the RoboBlitz Editor WIKI here.

      3. Where can I learn more about the RoboBlitz Editor?
        • Visit the forums to discuss using the RoboBlitz Editor with the game's creators and other developers.

      4. What's the difference between the Unreal Engine 3 (UE3) Editor and the RoboBlitz Editor?
        • RoboBlitz was built using UE3, and its Editor is a modified version of the original. Due to its physics-driven gameplay, certain functions in RoboBlitz, such as the way characters are built, move, and interact are different from a typical UE3 title. Those differences carry over to the RoboBlitz Editor.

      5. Can I play my custom built content on the Xbox 360?
        • It is not possible at this time to use content created in the RoboBlitz Editor with the Xbox 360 version of the game.

    10. TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES return to top

      1. My graphics card and CPU seem powerful enough to run RoboBlitz, but the game still runs extremely slowly. Is there another hardware issue that could be causing this problem?

      4. Why does my game crash sometimes when I'm running from Steam?
        • Your game cache may be corrupted. Try verifying the integrity of your game cache once before running the game and the problem should be fixed. To do this, right click on RoboBlitz in the Steam Games list, click properties, and go to the local files tab. "Click Verify integrity of game cache..."

      5. Why do I get a crash with a message mentioning "negative delta time"?
        • You probably have an AMD processor with old CPU drivers. This can be fixed by installing the latest drivers for your CPU from here.

      6. The game crashed! What gives?
        • If you are experiencing repeated game crashes and meet the minimum system requirements, please email support@roboblitz.com. Be sure to include your email address, full system information, and description of the problem (preferably with information on how to replicate the issue). We'll get back to you as soon as possible.

      7. I really want to play RoboBlitz, but my machine is slower than the minimum requirements. How can I speed up performance?
        • In the Video Options menu, you can turn off dynamic shadows completely. If that's not enough, you can also turn off post processing effects and lower the resolution at which you're playing. Finally, you can turn off lighting entirely, although you usually won't get as much of a boost from it as you might think.

    11. STEAM return to top

      1. Why does my game crash sometimes when I'm running from Steam?
