GENERAL QUESTIONS
return to top
-
Should I download the latest drivers for my graphics card in order to run RoboBlitz?
- Yes, for optimum performance,
download the latest drivers for your graphics card. Download NVIDIA drivers
here. Download ATI drivers
here.
-
Does RoboBlitz support the AGEIA PhysX™ accelerator card?
- The current version of RoboBlitz uses AGEIA software physics,
but is not accelerated by the PhysX card.
-
Why don't all objects in RoboBlitz cast shadows all the time?
-
RoboBlitz's detailed physical simulation sucks up a lot of processing power and uses up a significant
portion of our computing time each frame. Because of this, we had to come up with other ways to improve
frame rates during play. Since we were looking to innovate in the area of gameplay instead of graphics,
we compromised on our shadowing. That doesn't mean you won't find shadows anywhere- there are still
plenty of places where Blitz and the baddies cast nice soft shadows.
-

-
Why is the RoboBlitz download for PC larger than for Xbox Live® Arcade?
- The PC download contains uncompressed music and extra files needed to run
the RoboBlitz Editor, a Unreal® Engine™ 3-based tool for creating your own mods and
content.
-
What are ESRB ratings? What is the rating for RoboBlitz?
-
ESRB refers to the
Entertainment Software Ratings Board

SETUP OPTIONS
return to top
-
I play on the PC, how can I customize my resolution in-game?
- Go to Video Options under the
Help and Options menu to change your
resolution. Alternatively, push TAB to bring down the console, then type "setres" followed by your desired
resolution. For instance, type "setres 1280x720".
NOTE: The console is not available in the trial version of the game.
-
Is there a quick way to switch between full-screen to windowed mode?
-
Why isn't there a menu option to turn on/off Anti-Aliasing (AA) in RoboBlitz?
-
RoboBlitz uses delayed rendering that renders the scene once per visible light, which doesn't allow
for realtime AA on today's graphics cards. There might be optimizations made in the future allowing
for AA on certain lighting passes, but they're not in place yet, so that means no AA for now (even
if you turn it on in your graphics card control panel). You can still turn on Anisotropic Filtering (AF)
in your control panel and have that improve the texture filtering.

Any tips on how I can better control Blitz in the game?
- If you are using a controller with analog sticks, keep in mind that Blitz will drive
slower if you don’t press the stick all the way in a particular direction.
You can use this for fine control of Blitz’s movement.
- While in the air, you can use the left analog stick to engage Blitz’s
thrusters and adjust your position before landing.
Any tips on using the dash feature on the controller?
- If you have a controller with a clickable analog stick,
you can execute a dash by pushing the left stick in the direction you wish to travel
(forward, backward, left, or right) and then click down on the stick. When you click,
Blitz will dash without having to double-tap in a particular direction. If you simply
click the left stick without choosing a direction, Blitz will dash forward by default.
Note that Blitz can only dash if he's going slow enough to get a good start.
If you're still having trouble dashing, try stopping completely before attempting a dash.
-
I find it challenging to use the Grabby Arms to pick up objects. What can I do?
- Blitz can only pick up an object if he is close enough to reach it.
Blitz picks up objects more easily if he is looking down towards the object.
Sometimes big objects will drag on the ground and slow Blitz down.
In these cases, look up while carrying the object to lift it off the ground.
-
What is the "Glam Cam" and how does is work?
-
The "Glam Cam" is a camera mode that allows the player to view Blitz from any direction.
You can play the game in this mode, but you will be unable to effectively aim the tractor beam.
Dashing in "Glam Cam" mode is not for the faint of heart.
-
How does the auto-aim feature work?
-
Auto-aim assists players with targeting while fighting the baddies.
The auto-aim feature is only available for the EMP Rifle and the Pulse Cannon.
-
Is there a faster way to select a weapon on the controller?
- By default, you can use the D-Pad to quick-select a weapon. Press DOWN for Grabby Arms,
UP for EMP Rifle, LEFT for Pulse Cannon, and RIGHT for Firework Launcher.
-
-
Any tips for using the tractor beam?
- If you’re tractoring a long distance, try to release the beam before you
reach your destination. If you accelerate across the entire distance,
you’re likely to travel much faster than you want (it can hurt or even
destroy Blitz if you hit an object at high speed).
-
I don’t understand the Point-to-Point (P2P) beam. Where should I use this tool?
- Everywhere! The P2P beam can help you solve puzzles, move objects, and destroy
baddies.

What's the difference between the Unreal Engine 3 (UE3) Editor and the RoboBlitz Editor?
- RoboBlitz was built using UE3, and its Editor is a modified
version of the original. Due to its physics-driven gameplay,
certain functions in RoboBlitz, such as the way characters are
built, move, and interact are different from a typical UE3 title.
Those differences carry over to the RoboBlitz Editor.
-
Can I play my custom built content on the Xbox 360?
- It is not possible at this time to use content created in the
RoboBlitz Editor with the Xbox 360 version of the game.

-
I really want to play RoboBlitz, but my machine is slower than the minimum requirements.
How can I speed up performance?
- In the Video Options menu, you can turn off dynamic shadows completely.
If that's not enough, you can also turn off post processing effects and
lower the resolution at which you're playing. Finally, you can turn off
lighting entirely, although you usually won't get as much of a boost from
it as you might think.
