Adding Materials to Level Geometry
From RoboBlitz Editor Wiki
Once you have created a map with some Constructive Solid Geometry (CSG), you will want to assign materials to the surfaces. Follow these steps:
1. Load the map
2. Load Materials in the Generic Browser
Open the Browser Window and select the "Generic" tab. From the File menu in the Browser Window select "Open...". Navigate into the Packages folder and open the package you would like to use. For this tutorial, we'll select "PROP_Hub.upk".
3. Find the Material to Use
Now that the package is loaded, you will want to filter the contents. For CSG, we can assign either a Material or a Material Instance. Uncheck the box "Show All Resource Types" and check the boxes for Material and Material Instance. Then click on "PROP_Hub" to show that package's contents. You may also want to click on the Plane Primitive Icon to make the Material's easier to examine:
Your browser window will look something like this:
4. Apply the Material to the Surface
To apply the material, first left-click on the material in the Generic Browser to select it. Next, right-click on the surface you'd like to apply the material on in the Perspective Viewport and select "Apply Material". If you want to change the alignment, scaling, etc. of the material you can do so by right-clicking on the surface and selecting "Surface Properties".
5. Wrapping Up
Of course, don't forget to build your level and save your changes if you like them!
